The European statistical office Eurostat just released the latest figures for the job vacancy rates in Europe. According to the figures Malta showed an incredible increase of work opportunities, and the country shows now the same proportionate increase as Germany. These two countries showed the best results in the last quarter of 2014. The overall job vacancy rate for all countries in the Eurozone was 1.8%, an increase by 0.2% compared to previous figures of the third quarter of 2014 and the last quarter of 2013. Malta’s job vacancy rate increased by 2.5%. The great news are accompanied by equally good news that the average wages in Malta increased by 2.1%.
The reason why there are more jobs in Malta is because more companies are settling on the island. The favourable taxation structure allows companies to benefit from a lower corporation tax if the company is structured appropriately. Another reason is the iGaming industry, as Malta is one of the few European jurisdictions issuing remote gaming licences. The MGA (Malta Gaming Authority) has also recorded an increase in licence applications. Naturally, all these companies are looking for qualified personnel, and it is a good time for skilled professionals to come to Malta for work.
People who work in Malta can also benefit from a low income taxes, which makes moving to the islands even more attractive. There are many job opportunities available, and it is a good time to start a career in Malta.
