What is the small Mediterranean island actually known for? Language schools, a sunny climate and increasingly also for the tax relief programs. However, many entrepreneurs who are thinking about settling in Malta do not know that Melita offers the fastest Internet connections in Malta. Melita is the largest Telecommunications- and Internet service provider offering connection speeds up to 100 Mbit/s.

Gaming companies use the infrastructure in Malta

It is vital for the economy of Malta to have a fast Internet connection. The gaming industry has increased over the last few years, and the companies require fast upload and download connection speeds. The government funded the infrastructure on the island to build sustainable growth and to expand the economic output.

Other companies are benefiting from high-speed Internet connections

An underwater cable was installed just to make these connections possible. Many of these fibre optic connections can be found in the ocean’s worldwide. Malta has pioneered a groundbreaking technology, and many companies can benefit from this advantage. Nowadays, the Internet has become the basis for all communication technologies, and it is an essential economic factor for many companies. International companies that are established in Malta can benefit from high-speed data connections, which can even be a service advantage to their clients if the services are associated with transmission of large volumes of data.

A mix of different communication methods is essential

From the perspective of a traditional service provider who is resident in Malta, I can say that high-speed Internet connections may be an advantage for some companies, but they cannot replace the face-to-face experience with customers. It is necessary to combine these two methods of communication. In the office of Dr Werner & Partner we use video conferences as well as traditional telephone calls. And of course, if you would like to visit us in our offices in sunny Malta, you are very welcome to do so.
