The Malta Tourism Authority invited three well-known American bestseller authors to visit the islands in order to promote Malta as a travel destination to the American market. The three authors are Graham Brown, Chris Kuzneski and Boyd Morrison, and they are currently exploring the sights of Malta. On Saturday, the 27th 11am, they will attend an event at the Agenda Bookshop in Sliema’s shopping centre at Tinge Point.
Chris Kuzneski was chosen to be invited as he mentioned Malta in many of its bestseller novels, and the tourism authority invited him with hopes that he will feature Malta again in one of his next books. He is the author of 10 international bestsellers, and he sold more than 1 billion books worldwide. His novels have been translated into over 20 languages and been published in 40 countries.
Graham Brown had his literary debut in 2010, and currently co-writes the NUMA files together with Clive Cussler. The second collaboration is called The Storm and it is currently the number one of the New York Times bestseller list.
Boyd Morrison is a well-known novelist who also previously worked with Clive Cussler and co-wrote the book Piranha, but he is currently writing his own series, the Tyler Locke Adventures. He also works as a professional actor and appeared in commercials and theatrical plays.
The visit of these three novelists is great publicity for Malta. The Malta Tourism Authority also recently published their annual report. 2014 was by far the most successful year and broke an all-time record of 1.7 million tourists visiting the Maltese islands. The figures have been consistently rising, and it shows that Malta is becoming more popular as a tourist destination. The Malta International airport also introduced more regular routes to and from the island. We will see in the future if the efforts of the Malta Tourism Authority to promote Malta in the United States will pay off.
