The last day of the ICE Totally Gaming conference was relatively quiet and exhibitors had the chance to get in touch with the competition. Our booth was not heavily frequented anymore, and we were mostly in previously arranged meetings. We were able to walk around the exhibition ourselves, and the product manager of TipBet and I had a look around to see what the competition had to offer, and what the newest innovations and products were.
The Maltese gaming authority MGA was also present at the ICE, which is important for operators that are interested in a betting or gaming licence, in combination with a company formation in Malta. There were also some representatives of smaller gaming jurisdictions present, such as Alderney and Jersey, and they are trying to establish themselves as alternatives to Malta. This made the presence of the MGA all the more important.
It got very quiet after 1pm, and at 4pm sharp the exhibition closed. Cleanup started within seconds after the end of the conference, and it is amazing how fast booths, carpets and exhibits are being put back into the trucks. Just two hours later TipBet’s booth had completely “vanished”.
What remains are a lot of impressions, new contacts in many ideas what could be done better at the next exhibition. Dr Werner & Partner will be there again as a legal office in Malta, and advise potential clients about obtaining a gaming licence in Malta in combination with a company formation, and what advantages the Maltese company structure may hold for them. Personally, I had a great time at the ICE, and I am looking forward to next time.

The MGA in Malta
The MGA (Malta Gaming Authority) in Malta has become one of the largest gaming jurisdictions in the world. There are currently over 300 companies that have a remote gaming licence from the authority. There are different types of gaming licences, and they depend on what services the company wants to offer. The Maltese regulatory body enjoys a great reputation, not only among the operators, but also with the players, as player protection and trustworthiness are some of the key aspects of the authority’s work. This means for the operators, that a player is more likely to play in an online casino with a licence from Malta, than from a jurisdiction that does not have a very good reputation. For the operator, one of the more interesting aspects is probably the low taxation. If you would like more information about the application and benefits of a remote gaming licence, you are welcome to contact us at the office of Dr. Werner & Partner.
