The Malta Air show is an annual event held at the International Airport in Luqa. Last weekend it drew the attention of many visitors and provided an exciting display of flight precision and a static display of aircraft. The first air show was approved in 1993. At that time he was held over the Marsamxetto Harbour, and it was a fairly small event. Over the years it has grown in numbers of aircraft, as well as the quality, and it became the largest event held on the Maltese islands.
This year visitors could enjoy precision flying by the Frecce Tricolori, the RAF Red Arrows, a Swiss F18, a Czech L-159, a Belgian F16, the Guardia Costiera, the Spanish Patrulla Aguila and a static display which included the Egyptian air force C-130 Hercules and a K8-E, an ATAC L-39, and many more. This event gives visitors the chance to see military and other aircraft at a close distance, and to enjoy this extraordinarily spectacular flight precision show.
This year, one of the pilots of the Red Arrows had been informed that his wife had just given birth, and he performed a ‘heart’ display dedicated to her.
This is only one of the exciting events that are being celebrated in Malta every year. As you can see, despite the island being very small, it still has a lot to offer. Some of the other exciting events throughout the year are the Isle of MTV in June, the Notte Bianca in October, the Carnival in February, the Fireworks Festival in April and the many traditional religious Festas throughout the summer months. There is always something going on on this island, and you can always find something exciting to do and see.
